I have some such lovely surprises in new titles that will be listed here, many of them history books, including this beautiful little gem, the blue rim around the edge of the colour having a much more emerald tone than shows in the photo. Queen Elizabeth I is one of my favourite English monarchs for so many reasons. No doubt implored by Scott Pape, she trod her own path. I just read the last chapter, The Passing of the Queen and was suitably impressed with the fervour that old J.E. has bought to this story. A few tiny biro mark ups, lovely scented old newsprint pages that have darkened a little with age.
